A BILL to amend article five-a, chapter eighteen of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
seven, relating to the county board selecting a student
assistance team chairperson prior to the beginning of each
school year.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article five-a, chapter eighteen of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section seven,
to read as follows:
ARTICLE 5A. LOCAL SCHOOL INVOLVEMENT.
§18-5A-7. Student assistance team chairperson.
Prior to the beginning of each school year,
the county board
shall select a principal, assistant principal, guidance counselor, regular teacher or resource teacher to serve as chairperson of the
student assistance team for each school.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to allow a
principal,
assistant principal, guidance counselor, regular teacher or
resource teacher to be selected by the county board as chairperson
of the student assistance team prior to the beginning of the school
year.
